Role of Industry Partners in Skill Assessment
Act as a Skill Advisory: Industry Partners are directly linked with NSDC as Infrastructure Partners and Implementation Partners. However, Industry Partners also play a vital role in helping Assessment Agencies in conducting quality assessments as us to understand the needs of relevant industry. They play a vital role in enhancement of research and innovation through joint research projects, improvements in enrichment of students’ knowledge and their employability, as well as providing new streams of funding to budding entrepreneurs. Providing quality Assessors and Master Assessors, enhancing the questions banks by regular updating them about new trends and practices.

Our Industry Partners
Handloom Industries: Since Handloom industry is a rural based cottage industry, we interact with cooperative societies also, e.g.BunkarSahaytaSangathan in district Sant Kabir Nagar of Uttar Pradesh. AlsoTanda in Ambedkar nagaris an industrial cluster with small and medium scale industries.
In North eastern states of Manipur and Assam, Handloom industry is a household cottage industry with decentralized set-up.
It’sa traditional cluster here, with each household having 2-4 looms or loin loom. So the interaction with them has to be a personalised one.
Powerloomshave replaced the conventional pit looms in most places as is the case in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Here tassar silk is the product. Small and big setups are contacted to understand the requirement of skilled labor.
We have been taking inputs from the local NITRA office here also as NITRA has been working very closely with the local weavers for last about 30 years. The inputs from them have been a big help to us in improving our assessment tools and the assessment model itself.
